PS3 Media Server 1.22.0 is released

Right now the Linux and Windows versions are available, with the OS X build coming soon (I know we keep saying that but just waiting for someone to compile it :p)

This is an important release for Windows users.

Many file compatibility bugs fixed (particularly MKV, MP4 and DVD ISO)
Help tab improved
Improved alphabetical file sorting (old method is still there for those who liked it)
Language fixes and updates
Added custom profiles
Added new renderers: Sony HX7, Bravia NX8, Panasonic Viera range
Network traffic prioritised properly (thanks to bgm)
48fps videos are now supported
Various other fixes

There was a new update to the PS3, and now my PMS can't connect to it. Even with the new 1.22.0 update. Any info on that?

Awesome!!! Now I am a MAC user and I have been on the 1.20.409 build for a while. I know you said you are getting someone to compile the new 1.22.0 version and it should be out soon. I have a few bugs and was just wondering if you could give a little firmer date? Thanks again for all the help.

Well the code is all online waiting for someone to compile, it's just a matter of someone actually doing it.
I tried to install OS X on a virtual machine the other day but it didn't work, I might try it again soon

There is actually some solid progress being made to get working Mac OSX versions shipped with the other builds in the future.
There now is a script to reliably build Mac OSX binaries from scratch. Redlum has released a RC1 release candidate for testing and is working on the next release candidate based on the feedback.

Both the script and the RC1 have their problems, which is why there is no official release yet.

So you have a couple of options:

- Wait for the official Mac OSX release.
- Try and see if the RC1 release candidate works for you.
- Build your own release using the Mac OSX build script.

Just for a bit more information - after the ps3 firmware update, on my machine PS3 finds it but it will not find any media files either with 1.21 or 1.22.

The option "Install PMS as service" doesn't works on the new version 1.22.0.... the service doesn't start...

Yeah it seems like there is a bug with services in this version. I'll look into it
