Best Settings for 720p over wireless network

Great news to seee a forul for this great App!!

I'm jut wandering wht is the best parameters to watch 720p video over wireless network if yo have a descent CPU.
When a try any 720p movie, it usually plays fine for 30 secs and then start sluttering.
Usually it's when my wireless transfert rate drops a little.

Would it be possible to buffer nything on the PS3 so that we are less affec ted by networking speed.

your problem is the ps3 wirelss 54g card. The bandwitdh is limiting you.

Hello and thanks for great app. Consider putting up a donate-link! Have the same problem on a 54mbit wlan-network. Think my actual speed is betwen 12-15 mbit from wlan to wlan.
Some movies and tvshow in 720p works fine, but most of the movies are sluttering when the upload from server to ps3 reach 13mbit. Since most of the parts are under 10mbits a 2min buffer on the ps3 had been perfect.

Is that possible?

My specs: core 2 duo 3ghz, 4gb ram, vista business, 54mbit network-card, 54mbit wlan/adslrouter, ps3 40gb.

I set the quality to "good" and limit the bandwidth to 15mbits. Doesn't stutter on my wifi at that setting though obviously the quality isn't the best, but it's not bad either.

a core2duo will transcode any 720p under 13Mbits without issue I guess.. did you set a maximum bandwidth limit? and did you enable the enhanced multicore mencoder build ?
Also, I've no control on ps3's buffering, unfortunately... buffer seems very low (ps3 has only 256mb ram, so...)

I'll try the bandwith limit and chech my network speed.
Can check on the status page the actual data speed? Is that a good information for you?

Also in the parameters is a preset more suited to 720p encoding.
Proc in a Core2Duo 3gh with 2gigs of Ram, running XP.

I can go all the way up to 40-50 mbits. Above that, I get stutering.

Im doing internet tests from the PS3 webbrowser, over Wifi I get 6Mbps and over ethernet I get 92Mbps.
That should say it all, why wireless is poor on the Ps3.
