[SOLVED] Problem DTS? or AVC? --> Problem was subtitles

Postby bytecoders » Wed May 13, 2009 9:20 pm

Hello to all,

I can not understand what's the problem transcoding this file.

audio DTS, maybe?

really don't know

tsmuxer gives only a black screen, mencoder gives me broken data

I'm happy using PS3 Media Server and I can see, there's no problem with other files (so AFAIK my setup should be correct)

Not using subtitles when I try to transcode.

Here's the mkvinfo for this file:

mkvinfo is not enough, need the full mediainfo: http://mediainfo.sourceforge.net/en
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

Thanks :)

Not sure why MEncoder isn't working on this, but TSmuxer isn't working because a)the PS3 only supports L4.1, not 5.1, and b) the max reference frames for 1080p is 4 under L4.1.

Thanks a lot for for your time meskibob.

I'll make sure that I pay more attention for the next one. :)

I have some more parameters to check now. Good to know this.
By now I'll try to go forward in the mencoder direction. If I have any advance I'll let you know.

Ok! Really don't know why yet but the problem where subtitles.

in ps3mediaserver, transcodification settings tab, i checked disable subtitles definitively and now it's working.

If I try to play it with subtitles mencoder gives me a core dump.

Thanks a lot meskibob.

Gonna mark this thread as solved. And maybe should be interesting to change the title to something more subtitles-related.
