1080p >4gb streaming & VideoTS help!

Postby swb99 » Fri May 01, 2009 10:50 am

Hi Folks
Newby here so be gentle!!
Got a few problems with the excellent ps3media server & hope u can help!
First - can i stream 1080p files larger then 4gb to the ps3? I keep reading about the fat32 limit?? I have a movie that is nearly 5gb & want to stream but it gives up after about 20 seconds.

Second - i stream VideoTS folder content from the imac with no problem - except i get subtitles on the film - is is possible to turn them off?

I'm not very techy so idiots instructions on solving these glitches would be great : )

Thanks
s

size does not matter if you are streaming. Only if you wanted to store the file in a fat32 formated disk.
you can disable all subtitles in the common transcode settings/misc options if that is what you want.

Thanks for that, no more subtiles!!!

Still no luck with the watching of 1080p content. Am i asking to much of my system to be able to do this?
I have a brand new imac 3.06 core 2 duo, with 4gb ram, my files are on a WD mybook connected with firewire 800, connected wireless to my router (O2 Wireless box II - (in UK) -not sure what make its is) with my ps3 connected by ethernet to it.
Could i set it up better for 1080p success??
Thanks
Si

Brand new 2.66 core 2 duo, 4GB of RAM.
Files on an external USB2 disk.
ps3 connected through wi-fi.

No problems streaming (and trancoding) 1080p.
(with some tweaking of the options in "common trancoding settings", due to the limited bandwidth)
