Problems with PMS 1.90.1

Postby FinalSynFrey » Wed Oct 02, 2013 11:04 am

Hey guys, I'm new around here, but I'm a avid user of PS3 Media Server. So recently, I updated my Application to 1.90.1 since I was having trouble getting the PS3 to play MKVs on version 1.60. The Xbox 360 was able to Stream MKVs fine, but the PS3 simply gives out an error "The Content cannot be played". When I decided to update PMS to version 1.90.1, the PS3 is ABLE so Stream perfectly fine, but the Xbox 360 simply gives out an error.

There was a solution I found on the Forums that allowed me to Stream again with this version. Since I use MEncoder, I entered this in the codec-specific parameters. It worked on the Xbox 360, but It also does not work on the PS3. So I pretty much have to sacrifice one system just to stream something. Another problem with this is that there is a slight delay between the Video and Audio. When playing 1080p MKVs, this is very noticeable and is quite annoying. In the Previous version I used, the video will catch up to the Audio If It detects that Its out-of-sync, but this one simply doesn't care and keeps playing.
Code: Select all
container == iso :: -nosync
(container == avi || container == matroska) && vcodec == mpeg4 && acodec == mp3 :: -mc 0.1
container == flv :: -mc 0.1
container == mov :: -mc 0.1
container == rm  :: -mc 0.1
container == matroska :: -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=wmv2:acodec=wmav2:abitrate=448:threads=2:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vqmax=3:vrc_maxrate=54000:vrc_buf_size=1835 -nomux -mc 0
container == mp4 :: -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=wmv2:acodec=wmav2:abitrate=448:threads=2:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vqmax=3:vrc_maxrate=54000:vrc_buf_size=1835 -nomux -mc 0
container == mp4 && vcodec == h264 :: -mc 0.1

My PS3 and Xbox 360 are wired with Cat5e and my Desktop is also wired. Pretty much there's no problems there. My Router is a D-Link DIR-601 running DD-WRT. And here is my PC Specs

CPU: Intel Core i5 2310 2.9 GHz
MOTHERBOARD: ASUS P8H61M-LE
RAM: KINGSTON DDR3-1333 MHz 4+4 GB (8 GB Total[b/])
[b]GRAPHIC CARD
: Inno3D NVIDIA GEFORCE GTX 550 Ti
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x64

Anyways, I would appreciate It If I get a response. The Xbox 360 Transcoder is broken in this Build and MKVs and other Formats encounter A/V sync issues. I do not want to downgrade back to 1.60 because getting It to work on the PS3 is more of a headache. At least they fixed the PS3 Transcoder in this Build, but at the same time the Xbox 360 Transcoder breaks.

Thanks.

After trying almost every suggested fix including turning off subtitles and changing sync settings, I followed the GoogleCode link to version 1.72 and reinstalled and can again play mkv on ps3 - not an elegant fix, but it works...

Hi. Thanks for the Reply.
Does It work on the Xbox 360? I'd like to downgrade back to 1.60 (where the Xbox 360 transcoder works normally) but getting the PS3 requires more steps just to get it to work all together, which I DO NOT want to deal with.
