Help with getting subtitles to stream to Xbox 360

Postby ChackieJan » Sun Oct 06, 2013 3:24 am

I'm trying to stream an MKV file with SRT subtitles to an Xbox 360. Since the 360 doesn't natively play MKV, I needed to transcode it, but I don't know how to make it transcode with subtitles. What settings do I need to change to make this work?

I use MEncoder to Stream MKVs to my Xbox 360. Unfortunately, the Transcoder is somewhat broken in this Build. I'm facing an issue where the A/V becomes out of sync especially when It comes to 1080p. This never happened in a previous Build I used, just this one in particular is causing the out of sync issues.

Be sure to enter this in the codec specific parameters IF the Xbox 360 tells you that It cannot be played. This is the temporary solution for now until they fix the problems with the next update.
Code: Select all
container == iso :: -nosync
(container == avi || container == matroska) && vcodec == mpeg4 && acodec == mp3 :: -mc 0.1
container == flv :: -mc 0.1
container == mov :: -mc 0.1
container == rm  :: -mc 0.1
container == matroska :: -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=wmv2:acodec=wmav2:abitrate=448:threads=2:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vqmax=3:vrc_maxrate=54000:vrc_buf_size=1835 -nomux -mc 0
container == mp4 :: -lavcopts autoaspect=1:vcodec=wmv2:acodec=wmav2:abitrate=448:threads=2:keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2:vqmax=3:vrc_maxrate=54000:vrc_buf_size=1835 -nomux -mc 0
container == mp4 && vcodec == h264 :: -mc 0.1
