PMS on Arch Linux

Postby donniezazen » Sun Jul 07, 2013 11:11 pm

I have a few questions about PMS 1.82 configuration on Arch Linux.

1. My understanding is that the configuration is done via /opt/pms/PMS.conf and not ~/.config/ps3mediaserver.
2. What does UUID in ~/.config/PMS/PMS.conf means?
3. Is there any other config files available like in /etc/default/ or /etc/conf.d
4. Where is the log file saved on Arch Linux? I can't find it in /var/log.
5. I am not able to get PMS to identify media locations. I have tried following syntaxes.

Code: Select all
folders =/mnt/wd/Movies
folders =/mnt/wd/Movies/
folders = /mnt/wd/Movies
folders = /mnt/wd/Movies/

Is the space after folders and before exact locations required? Does one have to end the exact location with forward-slash / ?

Thanks.

Download and extract the file to your home directory or opt etc., it really doesn't matter.

Once the file is extracted, then execute the launch from a terminal as a normal user:

$ ./PMS.sh

Your configuration file(s) will be found under

~/.config/PMS

The log file(s) {debug.log} will also be located there, as well as the home directory.

Under the Navigation/Share Settings tab of the program, you are able to manually add the directories you wish. Simply select the Shared folders button to add:

e.g.
/mnt/drive.01/movies
