Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Nice to know but this is not the case. The latest videos I'm watching are AVI files with one video track, two audio tracks (italian and japanese) and external italian subtitles. The problem is still there with PMS but not if I am using MiniDLNA.

Hi all,

I have a problem with my TV Samsung: when I play a particular MP3 file 320KB/S my TV reboot!!!

Than i'm interesting on how DLNA is working: where can I find info about PS3server functionning (general of course, not the code), I mean for example how is done the conversion from which format to which format, what is sent to my TV, why in some case during film I can do a quick advance or back but not for all films, how to create a conf file, etc etc
I would like to create a conf file sending as much as possible raw/standard data (eg LPCM for audio).

Thank you for your help

Hi ! When installing 1.82.0, ffmpeg doesn't show up in the transcode folder, I see only mencoder and vlc. Transcoding engine is enabled.
Reverting back to 1.81.0 shows everything.
My TV is a 32" Samsung C6600.
Anyone having the same problem ?

UPDATE: It's a bug, fixed in the 1.90.0 snapshot and, hopefully, in the stable release.

v1.82: Problems with Samsung TVs

Postby rakosnicek » Mon Jun 10, 2013 6:28 am

I'm using a Samsung TV that matches up with the "AllShare" renderer profile.

A typical scenario may go like this...

- Start PS3 Media server.
- TV turns on
- TV and PS3MS detect each other
- play content with TV
- turn TV off
- PS3MS still thinks that the TV is there
- TV is turned on
- PS3MS doesn't appear in source list as DLNA device for TV
- Stop PS3MS
- Start PS3MS
- PS3MS still doesn't appear in the source list as a DLNA device for TV
- Turn TV OFF
- Turn TV On
- PS3MS and TV now see each other

Two problems:
- PS3MS doesn't recognise that a device is turned off and stops responding
- Announcements from PS3MS do not seem to be heard

Does anyone else see this problem with Samsung or other devices?
Is it possible to be fixed with a configuration change?

So using the latest conf file, which uses the following search strings:

Code: Select all
RendererName=Samsung AllShare
RendererIcon=samsung.png
UserAgentSearch=notused
UserAgentAdditionalHeader=X-AV-Client-Info
UserAgentAdditionalHeaderSearch=(\w{3}_\w{3}_\w{2}-\w{2}\d{2}\w\d{4}/\d.\d)|(\w{3}_\w{3}_\[\w{2}\]-\w{2}\d{2}\w\d{4}/\d.\d)|(\w{3}_\w{3}_\w{2}-\w{2}\d{2}\w\d{3}/\d.\d)|(\w{3}_\w{3}_\[\w{2}\]-\w{2}\d{2}\w\d{3}/\d.\d)

my Samsung isn't matching the search criteria...and my log's are showing this:

Code: Select all
[New I/O server worker #1-2] TRACE 15:38:50.265 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :SEC_HHP_[TV]UN50EH5300/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50
[New I/O server worker #1-2] TRACE 15:38:50.281 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :SEC_HHP_[TV]UN50EH5300/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50
[New I/O server worker #1-1] TRACE 15:38:51.375 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :SEC_HHP_[TV]UN50EH5300/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50
[New I/O server worker #1-2] TRACE 15:38:51.390 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :SEC_HHP_[TV]UN50EH5300/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50
[New I/O server worker #1-1] TRACE 15:38:56.156 Media renderer was not recognized. HTTP User agent :SEC_HHP_[TV]UN50EH5300/1.0 DLNADOC/1.50

I'm not exactly sure I understand the search string syntax above (my guess is that it has to do with the "[TV]" part...)...but anyone who could help me update the search criteria to match the agent's PMS is finding, but not matching, I'd appreciate it.

I'm currently using "the other server streaming application"...but I'd MUCH rather use PMS...
