m4a audio files showing up as VLC on PS3?

Postby tsukifu » Sun Apr 21, 2013 7:29 pm

New to the PMS, and loving it for video. But I'm trying to stream my iTunes library, and for some reason when I access the songs on my PS3, most of my songs are showing up as "Unsupported Data." These are newer, non-DRM iTunes purchases. My mp3 files show up fine, but not the m4a stuff.

On the PS3, when I hit triangle to check the info on these "Unsupported Data" files, under "Track" it shows the song title and then it says [VLC]*. The actual "Codec" line is blank.

I do have the VLC media player on my computer (Mac OSX), but I've never used it as a media server. I do have the "Show iTunes library" box checked in PMS. Anybody have any idea what might be going on, or what to try? Thanks very much.
