Separate audio and video flux

Postby mickey95 » Mon Mar 04, 2013 7:29 pm

Hello,
First of all, thank you for developing this software. It's usefull.
It must be a noob question (sorry if it's the wrong place for it) but let's go:

I got PSM 1.72.0 (2012-11-18). Purpose is watching movies (audio + video, here nothing new!).

Through PSM, computer sends video and audio to videoprojector.

Is it possible to send only video to projector (via Wifi) and plays sound on computer for instance to send sound on speakers ?

Thank you for your answer  .

PMS is not capable of splitting the streams and sending them to two different devices.

Do you know if another sofware can do it ?
Thank you.

Nope, this is not something that will be developed anytime soon. Not by anyone.

It is nigh impossible to split the stream in two, transport it to two different devices, and have those devices play the two streams perfectly in sync. And that is not even counting the problem that PMS cannot push information to devices: they have to request it themselves and PMS can only answer.

The idea sounds nice, but technically it is extremely difficult to realize.
Sorry! :-)

You can use external receiver which will pass audio to your speakers and video to projector with perfect sync.
As Raptor399 said, other software solutions are almost impossible to be in sync.
