Have a slightly annoying problem. Any Solutions?

Postby Windborne Sword » Wed Mar 06, 2013 12:20 am

So I'm streaming an MPEG-4 file to my PS3 with my Mac and when I'm on the XMB looking at the file and hit play it says the file is corrupted. However when I go through the #-TRANSCODING-# subfile and select the same exact file (it does say MEncoder after it though) it plays just fine.

I'm wondering if there is a way to make it work without having to go through the TRANSCODE subfile.

I'm using Mac OSX 10.7.5 and the latest version of PMS (1.72.0)

My specs are as follows:
Mac Pro Early 2008 Model
Processor: 2 x 2.8 GHz Quad-Core Intel Xeon
RAM: 6 GB 800 MHz DDR2 FB-DIMM
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 2600 XT 256 MB

I didn't install any plugins or codecs because I just installed PMS today. When I look at the file that works it says MEncoder, although I really don't understand any of the differences between the different transcoding engines.

When i look at the file info it says the file codecs are H.264,AAC.

Can you post an excerpt of the debug.log file that shows the files being played?

I think this is what you are asking for. I don't know, also sorry for all the access denied parts, I live in the most densely populated building in my state and the local internet wifi isn't password protected and I have to use an IP filter.

This bit of log shows how FFmpeg is used to create thumbnail images. It is probably from when you viewed the folder with movies.

I would expect the log to show something about starting to play a mp4 file that you tried to view, then perhaps some error, and then stopping.
