MKV files still not visible/shown on ps3

Hello I need some help Please. Basically I installed the PS3 Media Server on my computer because I am trying to stream a MKV video file on my playstation 3 from my computer. The PS3 Media Server syncs perfectly fine with my ps3. However, when I go on to my Playstation 3 under media server the MKV file that I am looking for doesn't show up. There are many other things that do appear such as AVI video files, but not the MKV video file that I want. For some reason the MKV file doesn't appear.
I should note that I have downloaded and installed DIVX codec pack so I am not missing a codec pack.
Also, I should say that on the computer ps3 media server, under "navigation/share settings" tab I have already added the shared folders, which would be the desktop for me (that is where my MKV video file is located).

So if anyone would please help I would be grateful, thanks!

No that's not my issue. The issue is that even after the media server is in sync with my playstation 3 everything shows up on my playstation 3 EXCEPT MKV files.
So I am guessing the PS3 Media Server program is not transcoding or doing whatever it needs to do on the specific mkv video file i have.

1) Intel Core 2 Quad Q9300, MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit, 6.00 GB Dual-Channel DDR2
2) streaming to a ps3 from my computer
3) NOT reporting a connection issue here.

im going to piggy back on this thread.
my setup is a bit different but i think it's essentially the same problem.

im using PSM just for its DLNA feature to stream to my LG Blu-Ray (model bh7420p) which is natively capable of playing MKV so i've set options in "skip transcode for the following extensions" for .mkv .avi and .mp4
never the less i was a tad confused when browsing folders that contained valid media to have them shown as empty. I browsed through a dozen of my files and found that a few were working.

went back to the computer and compared the working MKV files versus the 'invisible' ones to see that the only difference is the ones with subtitles would not display.

So as a workaround I tried remuxing the subtitles out of one of the 'invisible' MKV's which works.

My MKV file doesn't have any subtitles though.
I can still try remuxing the out the subtitles and see if that will fix the issue, but I don't know how to do that
can you explain how i can do that good sir?

I wouldn't say it's resolved, just a work around. Both my wife and I are hard-of-hearing so we use subtitles a lot

I'm glad you're enjoying your movies now, I'd still like to see a dev response to the original problem.

Same here, it would be nice to be able to have subtitles.
