SRT subtitles cause "Content cannot be played" message.

Can please someone with enough expertise look at this? The TV natively supports only USB subtitles, and they really look plain awful.

I believe I solved it by deleting the Mencoder font cache folder and let the font cache be recreated. But I cannot be sure, since I switched to UMS in the meantime.

Already I mentioned it somewhere in forum that in most cases this problem is due to incompatible font cache which have to be deleted manually. So you are right that font cache should be the culprit.
It applies to both, UMS and PMS together.

In my case it is here:

In short, try to search for "*.cache-3" files. If you will find it, delete it and start PMS again.
Maybe it will fix you your problem, maybe not...
