Streaming multi-channel audio files not possible?

Postby Phate666 » Sun Jan 27, 2013 3:48 pm

Although you write here http://code.google.com/p/ps3mediaserver/, that you support "FLAC 96kHz/24bits/5.1", it does'nt work for me.
I have tried several files:

  • wav file with dts encoded audio -> plays, but only white noise
  • same file converted to flac 5.1 -> PS3 shows Format not supported/ data corrupted
  • ac3 audio from DVD ripped to 5.1 wav -> PS3 shows Format not supported/ data corrupted
  • converted to 5.1 flac -> PS3 shows Format not supported/ data corrupted

Every file plays perfectly in vlc or mplayer with all 6 channels.

Any idea how to make it work?

I have precisely the same issue as OP. It used to work a year ago or so on a different PC, but can't get it working again...
