I have a fresh install of Linux Mint Debian Edition, which is based on Debian Sid.
I followed the instructions in the stickied guide for Debian 64bit here viewtopic.php?f=3&t=13046.
I had to change the url being wget from happy neko's launchpad to 1.54.00 as 1.53.99 was giving 404 errors.
apart from that, no issues until i tried to dpkg v1.54.00 ....
No flac no ia32-libs, no upstart-job.
Fair enough, I think, apt-get install em...
NOPE.
upstart : Depends: libnih-dbus1 (>= 1.0.0) but it is not going to be installed
Depends: libnih1 (>= 1.0.0) but it is not going to be installed
Conflicts: sysvinit but 2.88dsf-34 is to be installed
E: Unmet dependencies. Try 'apt-get -f install' with no packages (or specify a solution).
I know sysvinit is vital to the running of my system, as it provides the services or something like that, so I don't want to go forcing it to be replaced and risk monkeying up my system.
Can anyone offer an alternative,or am I looking for a new media server?
