PMS Windows 8

Hi

I've just got a PS3 this Xmass and I'm trying to stream my mkv files with subtitles but I just can't do it. I'm trying to install PSM in my computer which runs Windows 8 but I've read on the Internet that PSM doesn't work on this OS. Is that true?

Sorry about the noobish and prolly stupid question, I'm new with all this stuff.

Yes, PMS is working for me with win8 pro.
I had to install java first and then run the application.

Are you having trouble installing Java or PMS?
For Java go here:
http://www.java.com/en/download/index.jsp
Then install PMS and run it.
Maybe you can give more details of the problem.

I have the latest versions of PMS and UMS running on my Windows Vista PC with no problem. I have the same versions running on my brand new Windows 8 Laptop which is giving trouble finding a renderer. In my case a PS3. The first day it worked fine. It could see my PS3 right away. The following day and ever since it will not detect my PS3. The only way I can get PMS or UMS to detect my PS3 is if I run the program through the 'jar' file(pms.jar) in the PMS program folder. Opening PMS through the jar file works perfect. No problems at all. Trying to start the program with the 'exe' (pms.exe) does not work for me. I came across this tip in another post. It seems to be a common issue with Windows 8 for many. Hopefully there will a concrete fix/solution soon.

Installing the latest Java update fixed this problem for me last night. So far so good.
