Note: if the General Configuration (tab) -> HTTP Engine V2 (checkbox) setting is unchecked, you'll need to modify Request.java instead.
Why, thank you, you are very kind to come up with a solution. I did just compile PMS, setting the timeout value to 42300 seconds (don't know if it isn't, perhaps, too liberal a number), and am currently testing (playing a file). However, I do not believe it worked, as before that I browsed the media server files for a bit (so that I know a connection has been established), and then continued with watching the news on TV. When I checked back, then, the server was nowhere to be found and I had to fiddle with the network settings again so that the TV could see it once more.
I will try some more (probably not at the moment, though) and advise on progress made. Thank you very much for the proposed remedy.
