Audio problems with Mencoder

Postby mrcrowley » Thu Dec 06, 2012 1:14 am

Cpu Intel Core 2 3,2Ghz, 4Gb ram, Linux 3.6.6-1-Chakra, KDE SC version 4.9.3 and PMS 1.70.0.
Streaming to Sony Bravia EX720 with render profile Sony Bravia EX.
My local network setup is a gigabit LAN, connected through router plus 2 switch). PC > Linksys gigabyte switch > Linksys RVS4000 Router > Zyxel GS105B gigabyte switch > BraviaEX.
I don't really know which engine I am using. I only know that MEncoder is in first position, then tsMuxeR and last FFmpeg. Option "Choose tsMuxer if video H264 is compatible with PS3" is enabled.
Simply the screen is black. If I see at the options, I can see that time is running but it's always black. SD video plays ok.
If I deselect the option "Choose tsMuxer if video H264 is compatible with PS3", video starts well, but sometimes it hangs or stops.
I can play HD video without any problem to my PS3, that is connected after Linksys router and just before Zyxel switch.

Can anybody help me ???
Bye

I deselect the option "Choose tsMuxer if video H264 is compatible with PS3" and now it seems to works fine.

Do you use this settings too ???

Are you using 32 or 64bit Linux? What happens if you manually run tsMuxeR with no arguments?

[update]
after a big system update, I got audio problems for video streaming. Audio sound very bad, with rumors like graac-tic-fiiiiss and so on.
Any idea ???
Yes, I have 64bit Linux distro (Chakra Claire).

It seems that is something related to Meconder.
I choose FFmpeg and works well, even if on Bravia EX I get not so smooth scene on action film.
Meconder should be the choice n°1 for performance right ???

Any idea ??
