if it's not in the app directory, it's likely in the temp one, under "javaps3media"

Ok, I found it. Heres the deal. There is NO app dir for this program. As its not installed.
Instead I just run it from the folder that comes from unzipping it. By using the Java Run
Time program.

So, the debug.log was not saving anywhere near this folder as you all were saying it'd
be. Instead, it was saving directly in my HOME dir. Doing the search found it there. And
it was waaaay too long to try and find anything that remotely resembled crash data.

Thus, I wiped it clean and tried recreating the crash again. I do see a line similar to what
ratatoskr mention(My version of mencoder is: 1.0-0.rc2.3*):

"[Thread-1360] DEBUG 15:27:58.257 Sending stream with premature end : 32768 bytes of get/0$2$3$0/%5BEclipse%5D+Claymore+-+01+%28h264%29+%5BC1757870%5D.mkv. Reason: Broken pipe"

But just incase, the whole txt can be found here: http://www.phyer.com/phyerboss/debug.txt

Same thing happened=\
Newer file here: http://www.phyer.com/phyerboss/debug.txt

Im wondering IF the configuration is even applying itself. I will set the buffer to 200.0
as you said. And click SAVE. But I notice that it will always set back to 400.0 if the
service was restarted. Is that normal?

Im gonna restart it and drop it to 150.0 again. To see what happens.

Update:
Just tried it at 100.0 instead of 150.0. Still, it PS3MediaServer crashes. I guess untill
the next update, mkv's & omg's are off the movie night menu =\

yes your settings aren't changed, it's a bug with the locale and gui configuration
edit PMS.conf and change manually the buffer size (it's the property maxvideobuffer)

Are you running PMS.sh? It sounds like perhaps you aren't and thus the additional memory setting isn't set (-Xmx768M).

Ok, yet ANOTHER problem^^;

I dont have that setting on the PMS.config file
that was generated. Should I manually add it
there?

Jagged: No, I open the PMS.jar with the Java
Run Time. I actually tried to run it in command
mode. But, PCLinux keeps giving me the error
"no permission". Even as /

:o
you should have said so the first time... you NEED to launch the .sh
that way, all will work the first time, the files (debug, conf, etc.) will be located in the right place, etc.
not to mention, no more memory issue

I did'nt know until it was asked.

Either way, I found out why I could'nt get it to run the 1st times I DID try to launch it. Neglected
to set the .sh to (make executable*). Either way, the PMS.config & debug.log files were made
in the folder PMS is in. And the service no longer crashes when running mkv's & ogm's. Even
while still set to 400.0(which by the way wont stay on whatever amount you set^^) .

Now, I have 2 remaining issues...

1- Most of the mkv's audio & video will go out of sync. Usually by 1sec
2- The PS3 will not allow me to select any audio types or subtitles in the mkv's & ogm's

Apologies for bumping this but I am really wondering if anyone has any ideas on these 2
remaining issues...

1- Most of the mkv's audio & video will go out of sync. Usually by 1sec
2- The PS3 will not allow me to select any audio types or subtitles in the mkv's & ogm's

...actually scratch #1. I think I resolved it. But, the 2nd one I really could use a bit of help
getting the subtitles and if possible. Other audio selections working(selectable*).

Thank You
