Audio out of sync

I have been struggling with audio out of sync problems for some time now. I think the problem is the same for all formats.

I was just about to give up on PS3 media server, but decided to try a few old versions.

Everything is working fine for me until version 1.60. From that moment on audio is clearly out of sync for al formats.

Am I the only one experiencing these problems?

I am happy to be able to keep on using PMS( version 1.54), but in my case its clearly version 1.60 and newer that is not working for me. Any ideas anyone?

Can you specifically provide the debug.log (point 6) using the latest release and a sample file that demonstrates the issue (point 7)?

Hi, I tried too find a small file but my files are all way larger than 200 mb.

The issue is with alle my files. .avi .vob .mkv in all pms versions newer than 1.54

I just came here to say this fixed my problem as well.

I had v1.72.0 on Win7 Pro. I tried watching several DVD .iso's and .vob's, all were out of audio sync. For 30 mins, I tried various tweaks found here and on Google. Nothing worked. I came across this post, and decided to try it. After downgrading to 1.54.0, audio works well on those same movie files WITHOUT tweaking anything at all! Thanks OP, I probably would've struggled for hours and still not thought about downgrading.

Some additional info. Bandwidth setting makes no difference.

Also the "rc buffer underflow" message that is logged over and over again in debug.log of newer versions (>= 1.60) is not there in older versions(<= 1.54).

Does anyone know what it means?

Hm... never seen this before. I've seen overflow, I also having the same issue as you are. My transcode max buffer is 2965, and I put in 900, that should be 2700 use and 200 for head room. Have you tried Parse with Ffmpeg or disable alternative sync?

try setting

mpeg2 quality.

keyint=1:vqscale=1:vqmin=2

in transcode common settings. it was changed to keyint=5:vqscale=1:vqmin=2 in like 1.60 or so. might fix ure issue.

I already tried disableing alternative sync.. no effect

I also noticed earlier that the ffmpeg setting in video engines is new in version 1.60(I think)...

I had this same issue with version (1.70) but also with the 1.60 version.
So i downgraded back 1.54 and the problem is solved.
In the past i never had these issues but as of the latest version i had these frustrating seconds of audio delay .

So thanks a lot for the suggestion !
