All codecs supported by the Philips HTS9520 are programmed by the "supported = " lines.
This way the native supported formats/codecs will be streamed, and the unsupported codecs will be (automatic) real-time transcoded.
This config-file is created and tested by using a big assortment of media files with different codecs.
I like to share this, so that other Philips users can test it. Feedback appreciated
Unfortunately the browser of the HTS9520 is quite unstable with PMS and crashes easily, to prevent this do the following:
Hide the virtual folders like the "#--TRANSCODE--#" folder and the "#Video Settings#" (with 1.60.0 already default disabled) in the GUI or PMS.conf
Do not change the content of the Shared folders while the player is used.
Besides this issue and some others (described to findings inside the config file) this player working great here.
How to use:
Paste this config file to the renderers folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\PS3 Media Server\renderers (windows)
Use the zip file for download, from Updated versions.
Additionally the png icon can be added to the same folder.
The HTS9520/12 is divx-ultra and wmv-sd certified !
Therefore the maximum native supported resolution of avi/divx is limited to 720×576 and wmv1/wmv2 to 1280×720.
If you uses this config-file with a player that supports native DivX Plus and/or wmv full (1920x1080),
you can easily edit this config file, by removing "#" with some "Supported=" lines.
The Philips HTS and BDP models both have according the 'Codec_table_all.xls' the same specifications.
This config-file should also be tested on a blu-ray disk player that supports DLNA.
Very useful information about supported formats/codecs with Philips products, downloaded from Philips support.
