Runtime Environment 7: PMS can't download

Upgraded to the current version of PMS and when starting it says "PMS uses Java Runtime Environment 7.0, it will now be downloaded and installed." so i click okay and this pops up "Download failed: timed out on connecting." I don't know what this means so I checked my firewall can't find PMS so I don't know what's going on I'm connected to the internet but PMS not able to do this. Any advice?

This also happened to me when I tried to install psm on my new computer.

What worked for me was installing the Java Runtime Environment manually, which I did from this link:

can Java 7 be downloaded for Windows XP? For some reasons I can not do it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

It just says Windows here. Download possible, installation in question. Just try it.

I recently updated to Java updated 10 because I like to stay updated so other software work and security flaws are kept to a minimum. I have always had problems with Java and there is always some software that doesn't work. mostly Firefox fails now and this is the stable release channel, not beta and not nightly. So I have to use Chrome for Java to work in that.

PS3media server no longer works since I updated to update v10. !PLEASE HELP! I think this can now only be fixed with an update from the dev. I really miss PS3 Media Server.
