Network issue with Samsung Blu-Ray Player (75kb img inside)

Postby Valentine96 » Tue Dec 25, 2012 7:05 am

Hey guys and gals,

I'm having this issue where my home network involves a router and a switch.

My PS3 and Xbox work perfectly fine on the same and opposite sides of the switch from my PC.

However, my Samsung Blu-Ray Player (BD-C5500t) will not be detected by PS3 Media Server if they're on opposite sides of the switch.

All of my IP's are locked to MACs. The Blu-Ray Player is always 192.168.0.107 and my PC is always 192.168.0.199.
Everything is wired. Nothing is wireless.

I've switched Gen Conf > Force Network on Interface to my PC Network card, nothing changed.

My PS3 and xbox have traded places many time and both always work.

Green = Works
Red = No PS3 Media Server, Internet Connection is fine.

This is driving me nuts.

I can ping it, and it returns fine too.

Any ideas as to why this would occur?

Sounds like everything should work fine. It's an unmanaged switch, and everything successfully makes it to the PS3.
You'll need to use a packet sniffer (http://www.wireshark.org/) to see where it's getting dropped. Use a host filter in the capture options for your bluray player's IP and the standard SSDP/UPnP IP (239.255.255.250) - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=4228&hilit=wireshark&start=10#p19000

Edit: meant bluray IP, not PS3 IP. Post updated.
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum.

Thanks meskibob! I'll try this when I get a chance.

Merry Christmas!
