PS3 Connected Directly via Crossover Cable to PC (Help)

I have been trying to connect my PS3 and PC directly for the last 3-4 days using a crossover cable. Ive manually set-up IPs for the PS3 and my Local Area Connection as illustrated below (PS3 and PC IP Address'). I tested the connection from the PS3 with the PC and was able to obtain IP address but couldn't connect to the internet. Then using the PS3 and PC IPs below I changed networking settings for the PS3 Media Server by forcing networking interface on my Local Area Connection Adapter (see PS3 Media Server Debug Report). So far I have had no luck and it is really frustrating not finding a solution to connect the PS3 and PC directly without internet connection.


NOTE: I am new to this so all the changes ive made have been based on what ive read on the internet by looking at others who have experienced the same problem.


PS3 Media Server Network Settings:

Force networking on interface: Local Area Connection Adapter
Force IP of the Server 192.168.137.1
Force port of the server: Blank
Use an IP filter (whitelist): 192.168.137.2

Follow the FAQ - viewtopic.php?f=6&t=3507&p=32731#pms-pms_faq_connectivity_direct
It looks like you're missing the gateway IP (default router) for the PS3 (should be the server's IP address). You may also need to update the DNS, although I don't think should matter.
Note: You may have a working connection for PMS but still not be able to connect your PS3 to the internet. That requires some form of ICS (internet connection sharing) configuration on your PC.
