ps3 not seeing updated library

thank you for PMS. i have enjoyed it for a year or so now.

recently i migrated the server to a linux box here. it works great, and fast.
i download legal video torrents using utorrent. the client has the option to send commands after a torrent completes.
i use a batch file to open a browser to the scan page, than close the browser. in this fashion i had been keeping the server
library updated within windows.

i can see that it appears to be working in centos, it scans, and i can see the new media on like vlc, or bubble upnp, etc - but not on the ps3.
to get the ps3 seeing updated media, i need to kill the server and restart it. i could be doing this, but it just doesnt seem as efficient
as only scanning, i figured id ask why this may be happening.

New media displays at the bottom of the list until PMS is restarted.
