Subtitles 1.71.0

Postby Jumping » Wed Nov 07, 2012 4:30 pm

Hi

I seem to have a problem with subtitles in the latest version 1.71.0 for Windows, even though I have set always disable subtitles its showing subtitles. I even deleted the config and started from scratch but the problem persists.

I uninstalled 1.71.0 and installed the previous version 1.70.1 for Windows and using the same new config the subtitles are hidden again. Not sure if I just missed something obvious but I can't turn the subtitles off.

Thanks

Please follow the Problem Reporting Guidelines, as more specific information is required. If you could also post your PMS.conf file, that will help as well.
I provide NO application support via PM or email, so please post your question to the forum per the Forum Rules.

System spec Core i5 3570k, 8GB RAM, Windows 7 SP1,
Version of PMS 1.71.0
Streaming to PS3

Here is my pms.conf file

"
thumbnails = true
image_thumbnails = true
alternativeffmpegpath = C:\\Program Files (x86)\\PS3 Media Server\\win32\\dvrms\\ffmpeg_MPGMUX.exe
mencoder_ass = true
mencoder_fontconfig = true
mencoder_ass_defaultstyle = true
uuid = 18adcacc-84c4-388e-adc9-6076ce69e5a8
hide_transcode_folder = true
usecache = true
folders = G:\\Movies & TV,H:\\MP3,H:\\C64 remixes
hide_media_library_folder = true
embed_dts_in_pcm = true
mencoder_disablesubs = true
forced_sub_lang =
forced_sub_tags =
mencoder_mux_compatible = false
mencoder_audiolangs = eng
mencoder_usepcm = true
"

Using the same config file for 1.70.1 and the subtitles are hidden. So its like that flag to disable subs isn't working for 1.71.0

Can you post the debug.log as requested under #6 in the Problem Reporting Guidelines? That will show the actual flags that are being passed to the transcoding engine(s).

I can absolutely confirm this. Running the MKV file in WMP shows and hides the subtitles as expected depending on options. When streaming the file across to my PS3, the subtitles are always present even with the 'definitely hide subtitles' option in PMS is ticked.

Please attach the debug.log when you play that file with 1.70.1.
