Sharp TVs

Discuss alternative media renderers (not PS3) supported by PS3 Media Server (e.g. Xbox 360, TVs &c.)

Sharp TVs

Postby kod » Sat Jun 16, 2012 12:00 am

Hi,
Does the PSM community plans to add support for Sharp TVs?
Despite the fact that they are DLNA compatible not all the content is streaming. For sure transcoding doesn't work. I have no problems streaming via PS3 or iPad/air.

Please let me know.
Thanks!

You ARE the community. ;-)
As in: I would love to help you out, but I don't have a Sharp TV. The FAQ outlines how you can create support for Sharp TVs in PMS.

FAQ: My device is not supported by PMS. How can I create a custom renderer.conf to make PMS recognize my device?

Since I have a Sharp TV...to be specific, a 60" LED (LC-60LE632U), I put this together based on what's in the user manual, as well as trial/error. I noticed issues if you specify the media type in he Supported field. I suspect this is because for a given container, and a given video, you can have different media types.

This will use the default streaming unless it has to transcode. I'm still experimenting, so feedback welcome on what should be added/removed.

Make sure to add what is below in a "Sharp.conf" file and include it in the PS3 renderers folder with the other files. It should auto-detect from that point on.

Code: Select all

Did you ever get JPEG viewing under "Photos" on the Sharp Aquos to work with this configuration?

I can go into my folders, but can never see the files. If I use other Media Servers, they work flawlessly.

Tested on 60Le635e firmware 1.12 EU pms 1.90.1
If you have a problem with your Sharp Aquos use these modified lines in your conf file:

TranscodeVideo=MPEGPSAC3
TranscodeAudio=LPCM
DefaultVBVBufSize=true
MediaInfo = true
MuxH264ToMpegTS=false
MuxDTSToMpeg=false
WrapDTSIntoPCM=false
MuxLPCMToMpeg=true
TranscodeFastStart=true
DLNAOrgPN = true
MediaParserV2_ThumbnailGeneration=true

Supported = f:avi v:divx|h264|mp4|mjpeg a:mp3|ac3|lpcm
#unfortunatelly not supported in DLNA Supported = f:mkv v:h264|mp4|divx|mjpeg a:aac|ac3|mp3|lpcm m:video/mp4
Supported = f:wmv v:divx|mp4|vc1|wmv|h264 a:mp3|ac3|lpcm|wma
Supported = f:mp4|mov v:mp4|mjpeg|h264 a:mp3|aac m:video/mp4
Supported = f:mpegps v:mpeg2 a:ac3|mpa|mp3|lpcm n:2 m:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_PS_PAL
Supported = f:mpegts v:mpeg1|mpeg2|h264 a:mpa|ac3|lpcm m:video/mpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=MPEG_TS_SD_EU_ISO
Supported = f:mp3 m:audio/mpeg
Supported = f:wav n:2 s:48000 m:audio/L16;rate=48000;channels=2:DLNA.ORG_PN=LPCM
Supported = f:jpg m:image/jpeg:DLNA.ORG_PN=JPEG_SM
