Does this take much data?

Postby AlexCogn » Tue Aug 07, 2012 5:54 pm

Hi,

my internet provider has a restriction on how much I can download/upload per month, it is about 100gb, so not very much. When I stream videos from this computer, to my playstation in the same network, will data be used from that 100gb? I suppose not, because we're on the same router?

Thanks already!

PS3 Media Server will not touch your download/upload limit as you are just streaming files from your computer/laptop to your PS3 locally, meaning that you are not sending a file to a server hosted online and using up your bandwidth.

PS3 Media Server is encoding the video file through your computer and sending that encoded video, to your PS3 via LAN (Local Area Network)
