@Heba
The TMDB button you're talking about has nothing to do with importing film data; it's only used by a plugin to rate movies on TMDB from the ps3. That's why it will be removed in the next version and be part of the plugin.
To import data, you have to
1) Add a managed folder
2) set a folder, check import videos and check plugins
3) Click configure (plugins) and set the fields to import
4) Click scan
Then you should see the counter for imported videos slowly increment. If you go to the library view and clicking apply, all imported videos will show up. If you right-click -> edit you'll see everything that has been imported.

The imported covers will only show up if used in a media library folder (the one having an icon like a film).

Hope this clarifies things a bit.
If you always wanted to have your most recent videos at the top of the folder in the ps3 or wished you could group all videos with the same genre in one folder, have a look at pms-mlx

ah ok thanks :) though it works as designed for me.
would be great if i could have some imdb info and so on when i use the folder option.

Szenario:

I got 3 Folders where my Movies are:

L:\Films
E:\Films
D:\FIlms

With your Folderoption I can merge theese 3 Folders into 1 Folder and i have the Films sorted my Name. That´s exactly what I like to have but I also would like to have to IMDB Info & Trailers in this Folder.
Unfortunately MovieInfo seems not to work with your build :(

Is there a way to do it as I would like to do?

I couldn't imagine any sorting/filtering you can't do with the media library folders yet ;) for your example, you could e.g. set a condition 'folder path contains film' and set the sorting to name and your done. If videos show up which you don't want in there (because the folder path contains 'film'), you can create three conditions c1 = 'folder path is C:\films\', c2 = 'folder path is L:\films\' and change the equation to 'c1 OR c2'.

I don't intend to make the file system folder smarter now to show covers stored in the library. It would be a nice addition though.

No rush, since I'm quite happy with my current setup, but I wanted to check on the timetable for the next release.

Thanks!

Honestly, I can't tell. We're ironing out the releasing process; there will be a new release when it has been made bulletproof and easy to use.
It will include all changes made to pms as well as a completely reworked plugins system along with some bug fixes.

Bad News for IMDB usage. http://www.imdbapi.com/ has been shut down by Imdb. This was the service pms-mlx relied on to gather the data.

This alt seems to work just fine: http://www.deanclatworthy.com/imdb/

Googling around also shows other alt imdb scrubbers.

@killa339
Having a polling limit of 30/hour will make the scanning slooooooow.
I've spent some time googling but found nothing usable (http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1966 ... ide-an-api). I won't do scraping and there are no web services fitting the need.

So the imdb plugin that comes with pms-mlx still seems to be working for me. I can do a search using imdb and it'll return results which I can then import. I'm assuming it's a matter of time before it actually stops working?
