MKV playback and audio in slowmo (Mencoder)

Hey.

Having trouble with a MKV file that plays the sound in slow motion but the picture is normal. What can cause this and is there a solution? It works fine with 1.60.0 and ffmpeg, but no subtitles.

I'm having the same problem. Perfect picture, slow motion sound. It worked fine prior to release 1.60.

have you solved this issue yet? I'm still getting slow motion sound with certain MKV files over MEncoder. This was NEVER a problem prior to release 1.60.0

I am also having the same problem since upgrading to 1.60.0.

For me, the only files that seem to be affected are the ones that change from 2.0 sound to 5.1 sound in the same file, such as shows from HBO. Once the initial 1m30s "Previously On" - which is in 2.0 finishes and it changes to 5.1, that is when the slowmo sound starts when streaming. In the 1.5.x releases it also wouldn't change from 2.0 to 5.1 properly, it would act like the 5.1 stream wasn't there and would play the entire file in 2.0 at normal speed.

I uploaded a sample to http://www.mediafire.com/?bp5j2ij1cwkbx1j which has the first 1m30s in 2.0 and about 40s in 5.1.

Hopefully this will help in tracking down the issue(s).

I'm having exactly the same issue (Mountain Lion - 1.60.0) and your example video does indeed exhibit the bug at around 1:30 when the HBO logo appears. It seems to happen with tsMuxer and mencoder so I guess it's to do with the wrapping of the stream rather than an actual transcode/mux problem.

I just tried building the very latest github version and that still has the issue so it hasn't yet been resolved.

Have any of you filed a bug on the code.google.com site? I couldn't quickly find one. If not, I can do so.
