PS3 MediaServer cannot find PS3

Postby 4monkeys » Wed Jul 25, 2012 9:01 pm

Hello,

I have installed PS3 MediaServer (1.60.0, build 281930efc) under Ubuntu 12 LTS and it had worked perfect. Last week ...

But now, the MediaServer doesn't find the PS3 anymore. I really changed nothing :-)

PS3 is connected via FritzBox (Router) with the PC.

Any idea for checking the networking options or anything else ...?

I have a guess: PS3 MediaServer is running on my desktop under Ubuntu 12.04.

But I have running too a notebook in my network with Windows 7 and when this notebook is running, PS3 MediaServer finds WMP on the notebook but not the PS3!

When the notebook is not running, PS3 MediaServer will find PS3.

No Idea, why?

I had this problem too. Following advice from another poster I removed my latest Java update which did the trick.

Cheers,

You removed the latest Java Update from your Desktop (running PS3 MediaServer) or from the notebook (running Windows Media Player)?

For me it worked by removing the plugins. Perhaps there is sth wrong with them.

Have a look in the main thread.
