Pixelization during playback on PS3

Postby iowahawkje » Fri Jul 27, 2012 5:39 am

I have been using PS3 Media server version 1.10.51 and have not experienced any pixelization during playback.

I have a 1 gb. connection between my PC and the PS3.

I just installed PS3 Media server version 1.60.0 and now I see some pixelization.

I have used the default settings and don't see any difference in the configuration settings that might cause this.

Can someone help me with this?

getting that too with the massive artifacts as soon as i go back to 1.54 no artifacts. im preety sure its because mencoder is crashing and it tries to use one of the other engines. either crashing or skipping, the whole problem is related to the auto switch engines thing that was added im preety sure.

bravia HX750 here.

dont worry its doing it for most ppl at this stage, just wait for a fix, use 1.54 for now.

I agree, i think it is a Problem of mencoder. But: Isn't it still the same mencoder driver of Version 1.54?

Hi all,
Try to uncheck the next GUI option:
"Keep AC3 track (no re-encode, may cause inaudible dialog and A/V sync issues)"

This had solved my playback issues with version 1.60.0
With this option checked I had unsupported video with my TV, and pixelization with my HTS player, with transcoded video files that contains AC-3 audio.

Hope this also helps for you guys.

Vers. 1.6 : colorful blocks on my SONY BRAVIA

Postby PYRAM2011 » Sat Jul 28, 2012 8:52 pm

The new version 1.6 created colorful blocks on my SONY BRAVIA EX-Series  . VOB-files. (Version 1.54 works fine)

REQUEST improvement in the next version...

For everyone affected. Please upload to mediafire sample file causing this problem along with your PMS.conf. This will greatly help to reproduce the bug.
If this is not possible at least provide mediainfo and debug.log for the same file played with 1.54 and 1.60.
