Hi,
I'm trying to run PS3MediaServer on Ubuntu12.04.
I've followed the instructions on page 1.
But it doesn't work.
My PS3M error log is here:
http://pastebin.com/MEBT69dE
And here is my PMSConf:
http://pastebin.com/kxBw50hw
What can I do?
Thanks in advance,
David

Open GUI -> General Configuration -> Force networking on interface -> Select your network card.
Save, stop application and start again.

Thanks.
But it doesn't work.
If I start PS3M when I'm connected to the internet (by ethernet), PS3M recognizes an ethernet card: "eth0 (192.168.0.10)".
But when I disconnect internet, so as to connect my computer and my Oppo BDP83 by ethernet, PS3M doen'st recognize any ethernet at all. In the networking interfaces, it just proposes "lo". But selecting that doesn't work.
Previously, I had saved the configuration with "eth0 (192.168.0.10)", but it didn't work either.
Any idea?

Thanks.
But I don't understand how to apply ant of this to my computer which runs Ubuntu 12.04.
What am I supposed to do? Set-up a special network between my computer and my Oppo?
With such settings (copy-pasted from post)? If so, I have no idea how to do that. Can you help me?

"ethernet settings: ip/dns are both automatic. it is also set to shared, which gave me a prompt that the wired/lan cared will use the ip address 192.168.137.1.1

wired/lan card settings:
ip: 192.168.137.1
subnet: 255.255.255.o
default gateway: blank per instructions from one of the posters.
preferred dns: 10.1.1.1

ps3 settings:
ip: 10.1.1.2
subnet: 255.255.255.0
default router: 173.74.194.160
primary dns: 10.1.1.1
secondary dns: blank"

Why not set up real home network wired of wireless (with router)? In five minutes you'll have everything working with default settings (dhcp).

Thanks, but I don't know how to.
A while ago, I was on Windows and I could just connect my laptop to my oppo (bdp 83) directly by my ethernet cable.
That's what I want to do again - except that now I am on linux (ubuntu 12.04, with no windows anymore).
I don't need internet when I'm connecting laptop and Oppo.
(NB: Wired ethernet is quicker than wireless, isn't it? So I prefer wired ethernet.)

PS: For internet, I connect my laptop to my Freebox by the ethernet cable. Could I use the Freebox as router, and connect my Oppo to the Freebox by another ethernet cable??

Could it be that my firewall (firestarter) is blocking the connexion? I did try several settings with Firestarter, but none worked.

Here is my current log with PMS:

And current PMS conf:
