ASS/SSA Styled Subs broken in 1.53.0

Postby pacanug » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:35 am

Greetings,

Subtitles now default to the generic white blocky type. The same settings in 1.52.1 display the stylized subs fine. I'm not too technical, but looking at changelog it seems 1.53.0 has a new mplayer build and perhaps that has something to do with it.

Here's a screenshot of the settings that work in 1.52.1 but not in 1.53.0:

Thanks in advance for any help. :)

This is a known issue. The new build that you see listed in the CHANGELOG (SB32) was only applied for the Windows build.
The OSX version of MPlayer didn't compile, so it is SB30 instead (PMS 1.52.1 shipped with SB29).

Thanks for getting back to me. I'll stick with 1.52.1 for now and wait on a fix for the Mplayer build issue in a future release.

Cheers.

Issue still persists in 1.54 with Mplayer SB32. Was SB32 supposed to fix stylized subs?

Nope, sorry. It was a long overdue build to synchronize with the Windows version.
