infidel,

I loaded XBMC onto a Windows XP laptop and added PSM as one of the UPNP sources. Then played ESPN3 via Jumpy and it started playing w/o any problems. However, after about 5-10min it stopped. What was interesting that Internet bandwidth continue to be used up completely, I quit PSM. So I tried again and same thing happen, plays for few minutes then stops, but based on bandwidth consumption I can tell that PSM is still streaming, where and why it's not displaying the contents - I don't know?

Tried playing it via iPad/Air - and it gets the buffer filled to about 95% but it won't finish - so I looked at the bandwidth again and it sure enough it's consumed 100%. I had to quit out of PSM then bandwidth freed up.

In conclusion - somehow PSM streams in the background, as it happened with either PS3, XBMC or iPod/Air but it never displays the content, so I'm not sure if this gives you any ideas. I'll provide logs once I get more time and can clean up my setup a bit. Thus far I'm using a laptop with XBMC and ESPN is working so it's not a pressing, but I think number of folks could benefit from the solution. BTW the version of PSM 1.52.2 SHB-43 is working very well.

Question: related to Sharp TV as a render: are there any plans that you know of to support Sharp TV's? It's DLNA compatible, but it won't play all of the content nor will it transcode .

Just to be accurate, your logs show that the download thread (rtmpdump/ffmpeg) doesn't terminate and continues to receive data from ESPN and stream it to pms, but pms either isn't receiving the data or isn't doing anything with it.

It happens consistently for you only on ESPN and only with pms, but not at all for me. It doesn't appear to be a problem with librtmp, since your logs show normal rtmpdump activity (and we've also tried switching to xbmc's librtmp since xbmc is streaming it successfully).

I'm out of ideas but will continue poring through the logs :). I see you've already got an answer on the Sharp TV.

Thanks for your help. I'll setup a clean system from scratch then load PSM-SHB and test it again. The box that i'm using was put into service few years ago so who knows if there's an issue with it.

As to TV q's - in deed .... a valid response :) It will be easier for me to get a different TV instead attempt to fix this one ...

hello,

i'm running pms 1.51.0 on ubuntu 10.04 - 2.6.32-41

i have the following plugins with the respective versions:
jumpy (0.1.7) pmsencoder (1.6.0) in /usr/lib/ps3mediaserver/plugins

i have the following scripts with the respective versions:
get_flash_videos (1.24), rtmpdump (2.3), youtube-dl (2012.02.27) in /usr/lib/ps3mediaserver/scripts

on my ps3, i have the following folders:
jumpy -> bookmarks, util

but nothing with espn3!

(attached are my logs and config files)
i have installed the espn3 plugin from http://code.google.com/p/bluecop-xbmc-r ... loads/list and can confirm that i can play espn3 games on my xbmc

in addition, i have also confirmed that the xbmc can connect to the ps3

just to clarify, the problem is that i can't access the espn3 plugin, not actually play espn3 on the ps3 (i haven't tried this yet...)

any help would be appreciated!

Hi rawr. Jumpy is looking for addons in /home/rawr/.xbmc/addons and not finding any. Can you confirm whether this folder contains any addons? If xbmc is actually installed somewhere else then create a jumpy-xbmc.conf and set xbmc_home to point to it (see the readme under 'Log and Conf').

Thanks for the reply! After adding the jumpy-xbmc.conf, it still does not work. Relevant jumpy.log portion:

/home/rawr/.xbmc/userdata/Database/Addons.db: no such table: disabled
found xbmc addons dir at '/home/rawr/.xbmc/addons'.

also the addons folder:
~/.xbmc/addons$ ls -all

You realise this, I'm sure, but xbmc_home needed to be set only if your actual xbmc install path was not /home/rawr/.xbmc :).

I tried to replicate your setup by installing the happy.neko build to see if the system install of pms vs local config of xbmc could have anything to do with it, but jumpy finds the addons as usual for me and my file permissions are the same as yours.

Try replacing /usr/lib/ps3mediaserver/plugins/jumpy/xbmc.py and /usr/lib/ps3mediaserver/plugins/jumpy/xbmc/xbmcinit.py with the debug versions below and attach another jumpy.log, maybe it'll show why jumpy isn't seeing anything inside the addons dir.

EDIT: removed attachment.

this helped a lot! i found that it was not using the python2.7. i updated the path to python2.7 and found some problems with sqlite3. after a recompile of python2.7, everything works!

thanks so much!
