Hi,

I'm not sure what am I'm doing wrong. Actually I updated to neweset Ubuntu and now I'm not able to start psm. It doesn't work automatically on start and when I try to start oit with /etc/init.d always happens that pms is not a damon,

Update: I got it to work by uninstalling pms3 and installing it from scratch. Now everything seems to work.

And.. BTW.. how can I get 1.53.99 ? (I don't see you mentioned on the first page, sorry.. )

Also.. (I'm so new to this) you think it will work on my Synology? I only know it's Linux.. but will different Linux got difference?

They are different. This release includes changes since 1.53.00 and most likely will be labeled 1.54.0 on other platforms.

This package is for Ubuntu / Debian only and will not work on Synology. However pms-generic-linux-unix.tgz will work and if you have Synology with Intel CPU you can even try to use my precompiled binaries (mencoder, ffmpeg etc).

just installed ps3mediaserver_1.53.99+git+mencoder34587-1oneiric1_amd64.deb over 1.51
on ubuntu 10.04 Lucid... it works

Hmm from the changelog it says this just adds LPCM transcoding, does this mean we can transcode a 24bit flac to a 24bit LPCM to the PS3? Been wanting this feature for quite some time...

It means that videos with unsupported audio tracks (AAC, FLAC, etc) can be streamed as PCM without re-encoding to AC3. I don't know about situation with separate flac files. If you can provide sample file I can test it.

Debian users, please do not attempt to install latest Precise package (ps3mediaserver - 1.53.99+git+mencoder34587-2) due to init.d differences between Ubuntu and Debian.
