PS3 Media Server needs manual start after Restart (daemon)

Hi guys,

I'm running into a problem where after I restart the computer, the following happens. Note, I am using happy.neko's PPA and running PMS as a daemon, on Ubuntu 12.04. So, once Ubuntu fully loads, the media server appears on the PS3. I select the Media Server on the PS3, and it just shows a message saying no files found or something like that. I have done tests and confirmed that it is the fault of PMS and not the PS3. The fix I am having to apply every-time is to open the terminal and stop and start the daemon, using: sudo /etc/init.d/ps3mediaserver stop , then: sudo /etc/init.d/ps3mediaserver start. After doing this, everything works fine and great. Until I have to restart... I set the daemon on purpose so that it would not require user intervention after Ubuntu has loaded. So if someone could help me fix this... I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

I noticed the new 1.53.0 is out. Is the issue fixed? I saw this in the changelog "Fix startup for symlinked PMS.sh (#1356) (thanks, Matthijs!)", is that it? Or no? Also, are you going to update your PPA to include the new update? Thanks.

Cool, means I'm not alone . I'm going to try PMS under Debian and see if the issue is present or not as well.

Ok, I ran PMS on Debian Squeezy (Stable), and I can confirm that the issue is still present. After startup, I have to login, open terminal, and stop and start PMS in order for it to work properly. I used your (happy.neko) .deb to install on Debian, just so you know.

I hope tomorrow new version (1.53.99) will be ready. Purge your installation (sudo apt-get purge ps3mediaserver) and test if the problem somehow fixes itself.
If not I'll have to look into init.d scripts.

Should I purge on Ubuntu or Debian? I have both, along with XP in a tri-boot environment.Also, should I test after purging on the same version, or the new updated version?
