SharkHunter Build 43 (Update 12-04-29)

Hi all

I'm new to the whole PS3 Media Server scene, having olny discovered it last Thursday.

I have (hopefully) successfully installed the SharkHunter Build43. But I am having problems when trying to use the channels.

Forgive me if this has been posted in the wrong fourm.

I can access PMS through my PS3 with no problems and can play all files that are present on my local computer however when I go to channels and select, for instance IceFilms, I can browse through all the TV shows/Movies and can even get to the sources list but this is where things end up not working.

The list of sources for the TV show/Movie are shown as folders and cannot be accessed. If I try and select the folder nothing happens.

The only thing that is selectable in this list is the "add to favouries" and with this if i select it sometimes it will display on the screen and others it says "data corrupted".

I used IceFilms as an example but this happens with all the channels that are installed.

I think I am missing something with the set up of PMS. Although I have followed the instructions on removing channels and reinstalling them the result is still the same.

Can anyone supply some help on this please.

If you need me to attach any logs just let me know.

i think you hit the folder limit. what you have to do when that happens is go back to the main pms menu and the first folder should be "folder limit". go in there and you'll see the same folder you were trying to access. this happens because the ps3 has a limit of 9 folders if i remember correctly

Thanks for the quick response. By going to the "folder limit" I was able to access the video streams. But now when trying to play the files I get "Data Corrupted".

Looking at the "Traces" tab on the PMS server I have the following

"INFO 2012-04-30 19:35:07.087 [win32\ffmpeg.exe] Process C:\Program Files\PS3 Media Server-SHB\win32\ffmpeg.exe has a return code of 1! Maybe an error occured... check the log file"

I'm not quite sure which log file I'm supposed to look at. The debug.lol just gives me the same info as the "Traces" tab. and the pmsencoder.log gives the following

that's happening to me too right now. a friend of mine said that all the links have been changed from rtmdump to rtsp and where i live rtsp dont work so good. i live in italy and i get 5 mbps more or less. maybe sharkhunter knows better about this

I decided to try out this software and been encountering some problems, first off when browsing through channels folder on my ps3 and it only contained the data folder. Later messing around i noticed the channels path was wondering, where on the pms.conf that it was going to the normal channels folders instead of the extras/channels. Now the channels appear but the folders are empty, i believe whatever gets the flash links is not working or not correct in the pms.conf.

Additionally it asks for the sopcast path under options in plugin channels, is this the path for sopcast.exe or the script? If it is for the sopcast.exe when i browse through the folders thru ps3 media server, i can get to the sopcast folder but never see sopcast.exe, should i add the fodlers and later add the /sopcast.exe?

I believe the software just installed the basic pms.conf software because i dont see any additional lines on it, no references to perl, rmtpdump,etc which i been reading around the forums

I think I'm in the same boat as these guys.

Installed the latest build and I didnt have any channels in my channels folder.

Manually installed the channels and now whenever I try to play anything on icefilms or 1channel I get no error.. It just never loads.

yes you have to set the channels path to pms-shb/extras/channels . if nothing works then yes, we're on the same boat.. on the titanic! lol

By that I presume you mean the line in PMS.conf should be:

channels.path = C:\\Program Files\\PS3 Media Server-SHB\\extras\\channels

Is this right?

I'm also not getting any plugins to load in general configuration.

Try moving or copying the channels folder to the root directory of PS3MS and set the channels path to there.
