But i bought a Samsung ES8000 TV the last week and i wanna use PS3MS like multimedia server. The last version works ok, well, i wanna said, PS3MS detect my new TV without problems but the TV cant detect the server.

What is wrong? could u help me?

Hi Akuka

I have the same issue with a recently purchased Samsung 64E8000. I have two other Samsungs, a 2010 and a 2011 model on the same network which both work correctly. They are on the same switch, wired connections and a dedicated IP address.

The PS3 media server log shows the tv and renderer detected correctly but the E8000 will not detect the media server. The E8000 detects windows media servers fine.

I suspect there is something in the latest 2012 TV protocols that is not accepting the media server, but it is difficult to determine what is happening on the TV side. Has anyone else had this issue with the Samsung 2012 TVs? Any ideas?

Thanks

I was using a 2011 PS51D550 until today when it got warranty replaced with a 2012 model the PS51E550 - same panel I believe, just has the SmartTV crap in it.

PS3MS see the TV, but the TV doesnt see a DLNA server.

I tried a few other DLNA servers - xbmc, serviio etc - but I cannot figure out those crappy library systems. Desperate to resolve this also.

Thanks!

Hello All,

i think the same Mike. Must be something about accepting protocols on AllShare inside the TV. I guess that we must wait a lil for the solution, but i think that the stuff of PS3MS could fix it soon. Meanwhile i continue investigating about the problem.

The most interesting is that my Samsung Galaxy S2 can see the PS3MS without problem.

If u have any news please post it.

Have a nice day

I have a UN40ES6500F that doesn't detect PMS either. It's one of the new 2012 TV models. PMS detects the TV but the TV doesn't.

I was playing around with Wireshark trying to figure out what's going on. It looks like the TV has a bug, it's requesting: http://10.1.1.1:5001//UPnP_AV_ContentDirectory_1.0.xml

Note the double slash after the IP and port.

This URL is defined in PMS.xml within pms.jar: <SCPDURL>/UPnP_AV_ContentDirectory_1.0.xml</SCPDURL>

I tried removing the prepending slash in this, but it made no difference, it's gotta be a typo in the Sammy firmware.

Disclaimer: nfi if this is actually the problem, but it would appear to be so.

Edit:
Just found a April 19 firmware on Samsung's website with the below release notes, so check your model:
Upgrade File(USB type) (Firmware) (ver.1009.3)

Firmware for 20 PDP TV E550, E6500
Applicable Model PN**E550PN**E6500PL**E550PL**E6500
Description 1) Resolves compatibility issue with DLNA devices. 2) Improves picture quality.

Thanks troop

I noticed the later firmware also. Unfortunately it doesn't appear to be available for the Australian model yet. Hopefully soon.

That's unfortunate. Called Samsung Australia and they have no eta on new firmware anyway.

Looks like it is these malformed requests causing the problems. SharkHunter is giving me HUGE support to create a workaround in his build.

Fixing the above URL allows the TV to see PMS now, though more malformed requests prevent full use yet. I'll keep working with SharkHunter and hopefully we'll have a fix soon :D

I would suspect a fix could be made at Request.java (line 337) and RequestV2.java (line 441):

Code: Select all
inputStream = getResourceInputStream((argument.equals("description/fetch") ? "PMS.xml" : argument));

If "argument" cannot be found as a resource, you're in trouble! :-)
Try logging the argument and strip slashes where necessary to get a correct resource name.
