I have been battling with this for most of the day and have finally decided to make a thread asking for help, I think I have looked at every thread regarding this on these messageboards and others.
I have edited my WEB.conf file in the default profile to contain a stream for my sopcast and another test stream as follows
- Code: Select all
videostream.Web,TV=SopCast,http://127.0.0.1:89002,http://footballequalslife.files.wordpress.com/2011/09/pl2.jpg
videostream.Web,TV=NRK3,mms://straumV.nrk.no/nrk_tv_webvid05_l
and my PMS.conf in the default profile engines (there were none before I modified it)
- Code: Select all
engines = pmsencoder,mencoder,avsmencoder,tsmuxer,mplayeraudio,ffmpegaudio,tsmuxeraudio,mencoderwebvideo,vlcvideo,mplayervideodump,mplayerwebaudio,vlcaudio,ffmpegdvrmsremux
I updated to the latest PMS (1.52.1)
I downloaded the latest pmsencoder.jar (1.5.14) and put it into the plugins directory
When I load up my PS3 or my Asus O Play HD2 and go into the media server I can see the streams but just can't get them to play, by default it tries with the PMSEncoder and on PS3 it says 'data corrupted' and on the Asus it tries for quite a while (around 30 seconds) and then just gives up, I think it's a problem with my media server set up because the PS3 plays most movie files straight from the laptop and the Asus plays literally anything I throw at it apart from these streams.
Does anyone have any ideas? I tried with MEncoder and VLC Video Player as well but the same results.
Does it matter how the pmsencoder is named? Initially I had one just called pmsencoder.jar, then I downloaded the update and it had a version number at the end, I've tried with and without this verison number but still nothing.
Thanks for any help that can be given
Chris
extra info: I have tried wired and wireless (normally doesn't make much of a difference)
I have also occasionally got a 'dlna protocol error 2104' but this has only occurred once or twice, not sure if it's related.
