Ive used PMS over the years and enjoyed it.

I would like to translate it to the Hebrew language.

You can start here. Thanks :)
If you always wanted to have your most recent videos at the top of the folder in the ps3 or wished you could group all videos with the same genre in one folder, have a look at pms-mlx

Only 1 file to translate? just 289 strings?

Yes, that is all.
I'm not sure what will happen in the interface with Hebrew reading from right to left, though. ;-)

Me neither, but ill give it a try anyway.
also im not a developer but im guessing it's not too hard to make PMS Right-To-Left when choosing to use Hebrew.

i want to check my work during the process, how do I embed the translated file in the current version for testing?

thanks

You can set language=he in your pms.config file, create the translation in messages_he.properties. Open the jar with a zip file editor (e.g. winrar on windows) and drop the translation file into net\pms. Haven't tried it but it should work. Btw, found the language code here.

Looks like it should be possible to have the layout react to the locale and work with bidirectional text.

Can you post and attach your messages_he.properies file as zipfile, so I have something to test with?

It is pretty tricky, but I think I have a working concept. Everything flips, except for the separators which refuse to flip (I can align them to the right, but it will lose the separator line in the process).

It is quite a bit of work to put this everywhere in the PMS GUI, but at least it appears to be possible.
See the screenshots below of my Arabic concept version. I have no idea what it says (thanks, Google Translate!), but it appears to be the genuine article. ;-)
