MPlayer and MEncoder can produce very different results. Have you tested it with MEncoder or just MPlayer?

I've played the file with mplayer, and via PMS (which should run mencoder underneath?). Do you mean if I've run mencoder on its own by myself?

ive been having problems since mencoder sb26 audio/video is out of sync tried everything. reverting to sb25 fixes it.

It's all perfect for me. Might be a cache issue for you, I think sometimes it uses an old cache and screws itself up or something

Use the "Reset cache" button under the Navigation/Share Settings tab, or close PMS and delete the "database" folder in the install directory.

Same by me. No sync problems so I can't understand why some have problems but most not.
I have PMS installed on 3 different systems, all Windows and everyting is working without sync problems whatever tsMuxeR or MEncoder is used.
I spotted only problem when PC or NETWORK is not powerfully enough so when it starts to lag and fixes in a second, audio is shifted due to this short slowness.
Stopping file and playing it again immediately allways fixed this behavior.
It leads me to the opinion that if someone has problem it is because user is not under windows, uses slow CPU/network or has bad settings in PMS.
Or that user uses MP4 which I don't have so can't test it 8-)

Anyway all my AVI(DivX/XviD), MKV,MTS(h264) files with AC3/DTS/MP3 works flawlessly...I don't use AAC...

i deleted the database folder and also reset the cache, same behavior the buffer is full and i have a gigabit network (512mb speed to ps3) as soon as i go back to sb25 it works fine again. i even tried unticking enable cache same behavior. i tried a/v sync on and off i tried exiting and restarting and the sync is bad again. anything else i can try it just happens on some mkv's and i dont use tsmuxer. heres abit of the trace for the file..

Sorry I should have specified that I meant the mplayer cache.
Should be at C:\Users\Username\AppData\Local\MPlayer

I remember seeing someone post that it had worked for them. If it works for you I'll look at deleting it on install.
