PS3 error when browsing - DLNA protocol error 2101

Facts:
a) I am running version : pms-linux-1.10.5
b) My PS3 is able to discover the PMS server.
c) I am able to browse the top level folders
d) When I attempt to browse into any of the folders (including video settings) no items are found and the PS3 reports "DLNA protocol error 2101" in the top right corner.

Any ideas?

I have also this problem. My PMS-program also quit at the same time. It worked earlier, but after I reinstalled my Ubuntu-OS it will not work any more. Sometime it fails at the first click in the XMB, and sometime you can browse in a little bit more, but you never see the video and music-files in there.

I am also using latest Ubuntu. I am pretty sure this is a Linux only problem because if I run the same version of PMS on my Windows Vista system over same network links it works perfectly.
Anyone else out there encountering this?

So turning my firewall completely off has solved this problem.
However I have no idea why...

I've encountered this too. I'm pretty sure it relates to connectivity issues. I killed ps3mediacenter on my 8.10 box , and tried to browse folders on the ps3 (recived the 2101 error). The OP said that firewall did the same (which if a port was blocked would functionally do the same thing as turning off the app). Just a theory tho.

My firewall is off and i have the same problem/error message, im using Mint 6.

I have the same problem, anytime I enter the media server on the xmb, the program quits immediately on my ubuntu and the ps3 gives the 2101 error. I checked it and there is noting in the log file of the media server. the last entry is about discovering and finding the ps3.

I use internet connection sharing with firestarter to connect my destkop pc to my ps3. maybe this is the error?? however it worked with windows xp with the same connection sharing.
Does anyone have any idea how to resolve this issue?
