I updated to your latest version without any issues but flac audio is still having problems, sorry for the late response I didn't want you to have to download a huge file to debug this issue so I looked for something smaller in size.

heres an example video with flac audio that I can't get to play correctly. Some flac files won't load at all, this one seems to play but without any audio.

Finally you can use SSA rendering mode with SRT subtitles. That means... subs color change!
Some default config (PMS.conf) values were changed too. You can compare default file /etc/skel/.config/ps3mediaserver/PMS.conf with yours or overwrite it by purging old package (sudo apt-get --purge remove ps3mediaserver) and reinstalling from scratch.

love pms, like alot of people ive been having trouble with it since upgrading to ubuntu 11.10, 1.50 had the trouble with GUI, how ever the 360 could see it off the bat, with this package, everything works perfect appart from now pms and the 360 just can't seem to find each other, i don't use computers oftern, i set up this box for media and then i don't look at it for months when i just install the updates, so not very good at trouble shooting, from what i remember when i set up pms on 10.10, there was a file i needed to alter for 360 use, is this the same? am i just screwing things up, or am i just out of luck?

This is fantastic, I had some problems with the pms.sh in the tgz files. ps3 gave message that .mp4 where broken or damaged. This is a great app should be by default in the software center.

Hello everyone.

I have created DEB package with latest PS3 Media Server 1.50.1 for fellow Ubuntu users. It is based on work by paissad, my linux build-pms-binaries.sh contribution and some patches I find useful.

The main difference is that this package is bundled with all required pre-patched binary tools (ffmpeg, mencoder, tsmuxer, flac, libmediainfo, etc). Therefore you do not have to install them manually, mess with additional repositories etc. Just download DEB, install it and run PS3 Media Server from menu Applications -> Net or with ps3mediaserver via console.

Package is in testing stage now, so your feedback is much appreciated.

Hi. I set up PPA repository for ps3mediserver (thanks theprodejeff for the tip).

Now Ubuntu users can install PS3MS (and keep it up to date) automatically with simple command:

sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install ps3mediaserver

Just thought I'd post some feedback.

I'm a new user of Playstation 3 media server and am looking for an alternative to my XBMC box. I have a home server with OpenMediaVault on it which runs on Debian Squeeze. I've installed the debian provided and it works for the majority, but I'm getting a loud hissing noise when playing a tsMuxer file - other files seem fine. Will try to debug the issue myself (probably a normal error, but as I'm new I'm not sure), I'll post back with any results.

You should uncheck "Keep DTS audio in stream" (Transcoding settings - Common) box if your PS3 outputs audio through TV. It works only with AV receiver.
If this is not the case press triangle on gamepad during playback and make sure audio volume is set to normal (0).

Otherwise post debug.log.
