Thanks to this I got subs and everything working on a 42PDL7906T

I'd like to know how I could change the font scale thought, it's grayed out in the transcoder options.

Have you tried changing it in the 'Transcoding Settings' tab? At least for Mencoder you can change the font settings.

These are my 'Default font settings' (for use on my philips 42pfl7656):
Font scale: 2.2
Font outline: 1
Font blur: 1
Font sub margin: 2

See if it works for you...

Ah nevermind, I found that subtitles were disabled in general transcoder settings!

I'm thinking about getting a 52PFL9606K and was wondering if it supported soft subs. According to the user manual it doesn't seem so.

It doesn't support DTS, but can it pass it untouched to the receiver through the optical out?
Are folder thumbnails supported?

I couldn't find any info about these on the web. Hope someone having a similar model can share his experiences

Guess you're right. Philips TV's including the 2011 models does not support any subtitles native. Thanks PMS makes it possible with transcoding.

EDIT: Some 2011 TV's support suptitles like: .srt .sub .sami trough USB, and mayby also with DLNA? Like the 42pdl7906/12 after softweare update: Q5551 0.14.88.0

I can't answer this question, my TV has not a optical out, someone having a similar model has to share his experiences.

Are folder thumbnails supported?

Folder/Video thumbnails are not supported with my older 40pfl8605h_12.
Thumbnails are only visible with native supported jpeg pictures (Thumbnail generated by the TV),
and if a png, gif or tiff is converted by convert.exe to jpeg.

I guess also the 52PFL9606K has those restrictions.

flv and most of the mov files are not native supported by the Philips TV's.
The config file is written so that those formats are transcoded.
Transcoding of these formats works fine with my 40pfl8605h_12.

The native supported video/audio/picture formats match with the 40pfl7606d_77,
so i guess that also your TV works fine with the config file, and basic settings of PMS.

Maybe this will help:
Uninstall PMS and delete the PMS.conf (C:\ProgramData\PMS\PMS.conf)
Reinstall PMS (version 1.50 works fine)

Next are suggestions but I doubt this helps if you only got issues with flv and mov transcoding:
Add maximum bandwith 110 or a lower value in case of wireless. (General Configuration tab)
Try other video quality settings. (Transcoding Settings tab (Common transcode settings)
At last, maybe it helps to use a lower value for "MaxVideoBitrateMbps = 75". (renderer config file)

Unfortunately without more info about your System specs, Network, debug.log info, Mediainfo of files,
used Config file and version of PMS, it will be difficult to help further.

Playing mov and flv files does work on my 42pfl7656.
I am however using PMS Subjunk build 1.50.1-SB58; not the standard PMS 1.50.
In this build I even don't have to select from the #Transcode folder (at least if you don't need subtitles).
In the log however you can see that mov and flv are being transcoded by mencoder.
I agree with leroy to reinstall PMS, wher it is important to do it like this:
- Uninstall PMS and delete the PMS.conf (C:\ProgramData\PMS\PMS.conf)
- Reinstall PMS

I have installed the new build and tested with a few movies. Works like a charm.
In previous builds and also in the stable 1.50 I have had issues with audio sync and mencoder.exe (which sometimes produced random noises).
Seems to be gone now... So again I am one happy customer

I guess your system specs are the problem.

1. Try a wired connection.
2. 1 gig is not that much.

I read from your debug.log you have a connection speed of 24 Mb/s.
Wired I have a connection speed of 93 Mb/s.
