problem with streaming

hi all,

i have been using pms for over a year now without any problems
today i installed it on my new computer (replaced the old one) and now i cant watch to anything anymore, after 1 second the movie hangs , to start again after 10 seconds orso

my new comp is a win7 64b, i5 2500k, 8gb ram.
my network card is a gigabyt connection, my ps3 is connected with a network cable into a 100mbs switch
as said, evrything worked before with my old computer and ps3 connection

only thing i can see is when i start a movie, is that the bitrate does not go higher then 2MB ...
although my ps3 is found as a 97mbs connection...

i think the problem is that the bitrate needs to go to 97mbs
i have tried evry parameter bout limiting the mbs or whatever, but even at lowest quality the movie stutters after 2 seconds...

any advice what to do?

yes, i have tried with the latest version too (1.50)
then it tried the version that was installed on my old computer (version was 1.30)

tonight i going to try to reinstall network drivers, but if that doenst work i'm clueless

weirdest thing is, the program sees that the connection is 93mbps, but doenst use it

I have the exact same problem. Tried everything. Everything worked fine with my old computer but I just bought a new one, and it lags. On every convert option. Lowest quality to highest, doent matter. I also have the same router config. I tried 1.3 and 1.5 and no differense.

i also installed the 1.1 but on another HD but its still laggy.
I cant get more than 2 mbts either...

i think its a hardware problem or something, windows media server is also lagging like hell

allready deleted my network card driver and manually reinstalled it, but nothing, it stays the same

so no more streaming for me

If you are seeing the same stuttering issues, regardless of the filetype, then I would look at network related issues. Uninstalling, reinstalling the current network driver may not necessarily solve the issue if the current driver is the problem.

Have you gone to the manufacturer's site to do updating of drivers. Sometimes the version Windows recognizes as "current", in fact is not. And at the same time, if the driver installed matches the current manufacturer release, then it may be possible you need to roll back the driver. See if you can find an older driver.

And if other servers are doing the same (WMP), then I would definitely look outside of PMS.

Sometimes, if I have network issues, I save my router settings on desktop. Then I factory reboot my router, followed by re-applying the saved router config. Kind of a pain is the ass, but once you have your settings saved, it is a fairly quick process. And if you don't have things like virtual servers, port forwarding, VPN settings, inbound rules, reservation tables.....etc., then a factory reboot of the router is even quicker and easier. Why I occasionally need to do this.......not sure.....but I think routers and firmware eventually become corrupted for whatever reason.....particularly DLink routers, which I have. Often my strange network issues are straightened out by doing this.
Haven't had to do this for a while, but I always keep a current router config file saved in case.

i looked up my motherboard on the internet and downloaded the driver from the site

i have a Z68 EXTREME3 GEN3
so i went to this site :

and i downloaded the Windows® 7 64bit
5.50MB Realtek LAN driver ver:7.044

this should be it no?

i removed the current driver and device, rebooted, when windows was restarted i pointed to my downloaded driver ... my internet speed is as it should be at max download (7mb/s)
but streaming to my ps3 is crap

my ps3 is behind a switch, i even tried to connect my ps3 directly to internet without switch, ps3 media server then said that the connection was 512 mbs in stead of 93, but still the same stutter, the bit rate stays under 2MB and my cpu is doing nothing

i'm stuck

(just tried my old computer, and offcourse evryhting works fine there, so it should be something on my new computer)

I have solved it, for my part. Here is what i did:

1. Device manager -> Network adapters
2. Right click on the network adapter. In my case it was "realtek gbe family controller driver". Click properties.
3. Advanced
4. No you can choose from "Property"
5. Deactivate "Large send offload" for IPv4 and IPv6

I suppose that the network adapter has some kind of a limit
