Internet Access Neccesary?

Greetings.

I have been using PS3 media server for a VERY long time.
A few questions tho.

Is Internet access necessary?

Or can I simply use my pc+ps3?

Also...some of my HD movies freeze (720 and 1080) and im on a wireless G network.

Might that be the issue?

No. Only if you want to web stream.

More than likely. The PS3's wifi adapter is known for being garbage. Combine that with a probably max thru put of about 25-30 Mbps, and trying to stream HD material.
