has anyone gotten hulu.com to work?

Postby dhelmick » Sat Jan 31, 2009 3:48 am

I can set up hulu feeds in the web.conf file and I can see the episodes that I want to see in the XMB, but when I try to play them, I get the familiar "the data is corrupted" error.

Here's the line I have in my web.conf file for the daily show:

videofeed.Web,DailyShow=http://www.hulu.com/feed/show/902/episodes

Has anyone gotten this to work?

Thanks.

I am facing the same problem... Has anyone figured it out? I wonder how Playon does it.

This gives RSS links to Flash plugin/html pages, it does not work that way. We need to know what is the internal videofile url or RTMP streaming address used by the Flash player clip. I believe its quite difficult to extract Hulu internal urls, don't how how PlayON does it. Maybe they capture a screen from the desktop web player page :-)

Then creating a customized rss converter could give it to PS3MS server.
I have done convert video site to RSS feed module to suit my needs. It parses websites and give PS3MS a well formatted VLC player compatible feed urls. VLC is what ps3ms uses for web streaming.

ps: I can't test any Hulu videos due to a geoIP block. Is there any worldwide available videos in Hulu?

Hulu is constantly changing how to get this information, as well. This is why PlayOn constantly breaks.

So the response to the original question is NO, I suppose.
If anyone gets Hulu to work please do post.
It would be nice to use one server for all needs.

Thanks.

I know that can sound a little hypocritical, but transcoding Hulu streams is ILLEGAL. I know how to add this, but the project will clearly break hulu's tos

Well, since we want to have PMS thrive and grow we might as well be on the safe side, indeed.
PlayOn seems to be in a unique position (actually using the Hulu player), so they may be safe.
I believe that DivxConnected does the same as well.

So, we seem to have something to use for Hulu.
Let's focus on the rest - for use in PMS.

Thanks for your dev efforts. Great product!
