Streaming Video/Audio without transcoding?

Postby dtsexpert » Mon Sep 12, 2011 11:51 pm

Hi,
I have used PS3 server mainly getting the Web streaming, streaming to my Sony EX620 and Popcorn Hour Networked Media Player.
PMSEncoder and Mencoder do well transcoding them to Mpeg2. Web streaming is mp4 H264 which the Popcorn Hours can play it natively (using VLC to record the stream, then test it with Popcorn Hours).
My question is that is there a way we can get PS3 Server get the the Web streaming then streaming it without transcoding.
Thanks,

Searching the forum, it seems the 1.30 has issue as transcoding mp4 to mpg2 at default. I just downgrade and use the 1.25, having mp4 in "skip transcode..." box, PS3 still transcode the Webstream to Mpeg2 (Popcorn Hours shows: system VOB, video Mpeg1/2, Audio Dolby Digital...
Would anyone test this Webstream for me:
videostream.Web,MEGATV=VTV1,http://127.0.0.1:6498/ms2/1313632101558/0MediaPlayer+0+/octoshape+hVV+dir.vdconline.vn+V+vdco.octo3.auto/vdcoocto3auto

Please install Octoshape in order to get this stream. You can get Octoshape at http://www.octoshape.com/?page=get_octo/get_octo
I am running PS3 Server in WinXP
thanks,
