My apologies, I should have been more specific.

ASS/SSA embedded inside MKVs.

Your own build of MEncoder seems to make it work.

Well it's different for different operating systems so I'll give 3 answers:
Windows: It has been supported for years and will continue to be
Linux: As soon as you update MPlayer on your machine
OS X: As soon as Raptor is able to build a newer version of MPlayer

I finally managed to compile MPlayer! :-D
New versions of mencoder and mplayer have been committed in r778.

Quick OS X question...
Should I update the OSX version of MPlayer and update the revisions for Freetype (currently using 2.4.4, the issue speaks of 2.4.6)?
Not sure where "libass" is used, can't find it anywhere in the build script, so I'm not sure what to update there.

Yes, an update would be great! :)
Libass is included with MPlayer so there's no need to add it to the build script. Yes, updating to FreeType 2.4.6 is a good idea since it fixes some bugs.

Removed "DVD/VOB audio initial offset not detected in MEncoder" since I fixed it in SB17. I told the official devs how to fix it too so maybe it will be added to their SVN in the future.
I also added "Update for libass" to remind them to update to libass 0.10.0.
